Mandela

What might we learn about how to deal with pain and suffering from the knowledge and understanding of Nelson Mandela? Write a brief personal reflection on this and post to your blog.

Mandela learnt not to be angry with those who believed their actions were honorable. I believe that he may have been angry originally; however, he realized that more violence will not help South Africa move forward. His actions towards those who were less than he, was magnanimous and helped him shape the country he wanted to have grown up in. His knowledge about people helped him to understand why his captors opposed his work, but it was disregarded in Mandela’s mind because he wanted others to follow the “path of the light”. Through his knowledge, experience and understanding of the human heart, Mandela was able to shape the world to be a better place. It only takes one person to make a difference in the world.
